F&SF rejected "Trickster's Wish" yesterday - I don't think I'm ever going to get anywhere with them, but I keep trying...

...anyway, it went back out to a hopefully-more-receptive publisher this morning.

I've been trying to get somewhere with the first draft of "Easter Lilies" but it's just not wanting to play at all. I'm very grumpy about it. Almost grumpy enough to refuse to show it to BRAWL. :/

Boston Regional Area Writer's League. The folks who crit my work and help me make it better. (I almost said "make me make it better" but they can't always convince me to change stuff. Most of the time, they're right.)

We don't actually have a web page - just members, some of whom have beaten the game and are actually published. (And then there's me, still trying. ;)

Trickster's Wish is not your strongest story. Popinjay's Daughter is better, I think, both in mood and writing.

Mm, I will agree with you there. Wish demanded to be written in its original form, which sadly is not something that made sense to everyone. I might have lost something in the edits, while adding coherence. Not sure.

Popinjay's Daughter I probably won't hear back on for another month at least. Oh well. This is why I have to keep writing - so that I have a story in the pile at at least one publisher at once. ;)

If this afternoon cooperates, I should get some nice solar recharging, at which point, perhaps Easter Lilies will behave itself.
